about
"Ballad of Always and Never" is a song about a love that is and can never be. It's an ode to the timeless story of having to choose between oneself or the other and also guilt, sadness and longing for something that is unattainable. Also, it is the first single of yet-to-be-named upcoming album of the band Seven Mouldy Figs. The band also released a music video for the song
which was completely produced by band members.
lyrics
You appeared as the sun
Settled down beneath the clouds.
As the tides grew tall
Hope hanging around.
Rains fell hard, I’m calling you
Silently, hauntingly, calling you, calling me.
To be a part of a song of always and never
Interlaced hands pulling apart, coming together.
But the moment we met, I saw you clear
Rushing through the walls, unwalked halls, calling you, calling me.
Nearer,
believer like me,
I’ll love you till the day I die.
Settled down beneath these clouds,
Your fading contour slipping from my mind.
Like in a dream, I’m losing you
Reaching out my arm, into empty space, calling you, calling me.
There’s no answer, no answer from you.
Distant lights promise that you want me too.
I yearn for the day we’ll meet again,
Embrace the dream that never ends.
And now that you’re lost to me
I no longer see the light.
Nights became cold,
Not sure I want to survive.
I fell out of grace, I lost you,
Cause of my shame, I’m the one to blame, calling you calling me.
But there’s no answer, no answer from you.
Distant lights promise that you want me too.
I yearn for the day we’ll meet again,
Embrace the dream that never ends.
Now that you are here,
I have to face my fears.
Now that I have you,
Skies are turning blue.
Clear bright blue.
